Day in Downtown Seattle!

So, we took off school & spent Labor Day
with the girls in downtown Seattle!
I thought this sign was pretty hilarious!
Yeah.. those SWELTERING 68* days!!! ;-)
And it was like 75* there that day, and
Deanna, one of the girls that went with
us, wore the "coolest outfit she had
because she knew it was gonna be
hot!" haha pretty funny! ;-)
The BIG hills freaked Ariel out!
Not exactly sure what these were...
I guess just places to rest going uphill :-)

The first Starbucks!  And the line was out the door!
Katie, I thought you'd like this :-)
Deanna read us "The Wheedle and the Needle"...
definitely a must in the downtown Seattle experience! :-)

 I absolutely LOVE the water!

 Gopika also came with us!
Great to have you join us, Gopika! :-)
Leesie got her hair done in this cute little bun :-)

I love "my little women"! :-)
Seafood.. YUCK!  Or GAG, as Amanda would say! ;-)
This is a classic picture since Gopika had just decided
to not have any processed sugar from September 5th...
Just a picture, though.. she didn't eat it :-)
This was the tallest man in the world
and how Janna compares.. WOW!
A giant gummy bear for Amanda! :-)
After going to Pike Place Market,
we headed to the Waterfront for lunch :-)
As we were stopped at a crosswalk, somebody
commented on this huge umbrella.  Ariel pipes
up and says, "Wait!  Is it real?  I mean, does
it really work when it rains?" haha If you will notice
it even has holes in it.. wouldn't do much good!
Just love you, Ariel! ;-)
Rachel, check out these hanging flowers!
Too bad these weren't at church.. :-)

Deanna's sister, Kristina, joined us for the day, too :-)
After we finished eating what we wanted, the girls
enjoyed giving the rest to the birds :-)
 Love the shades, gals! ;-)

The sailboat was the focus of this picture
in case you were wondering.. :-)
Leesie picked these flowers for me :-)
She's so thoughtful & giving!

Now in this picture you should be able to tell
what the focus is supposed to be.. ;-)
 Pairasailing!
Tab, does this bring back memories of going in
Mackinac?!  Such great times!  So glad we're
both still here to enjoy them... :-)

Gotta make sure it's okay, of course! ;-)
 Gopika, Tizzy, and Ariel

 This is crazy!
 Here's the treasured debris!
"A man without a face!"
Mmm.. I wonder what person this made me think of?
Any guesses, anyone??? :-)
 The girls got caricatures done!
Janna was talking about what they would do to her
if she ever had one done, so I thought it'd be great
for her to see! :-)  And for keepsake, of course!

 She looks excited! ;-)
 SO CUTE!!!
Can you tell who's who??? :-)
 Carriage ride, anyone?
Resting by the big.. animal, whatever it is :-)

This is definitely a "Me" shop, don't you think, Aunt Woody? :-)
Can you guess which saying I like best? :-)

Leesie was SO excited to find these for
Miss Nicole and Miss Amanda :-)
Too bad the sayings weren't true, though..
haha JUST KIDDING! ;-p
We missed you!

 A GIANT PIGGY BANK!

Lest this picture deceive you.. Janna actually pulled
the money OUT of the piggy! haha
She put it back, though, of course! ;-)
The Gum Wall on Post Alley.. definitely another Seattle must!
Probably just a one time visit thing, though.. ;-)
 Some nerve, huh?!
Deanna thought this sign was pretty funny.. :-)
Chewing up our gum to stick on the wall

 And it's on!
Who knows how many more have put
theirs on from all over the world, and now
we can say that we did too! :-)
Mmm.. I wonder what Ariel thought about it?? ;-)
Yeah, Jan's face pretty much describes it... :-)
Tuckered out after a long, fun-filled day! :-)
 BEAUTIFUL flowers for super cheap!
Guys, take your gals! ;-)
Of course, I had to get a picture of
Janna by this cherry sign! :-)

We stopped by the Space Needle on our way
back home.  Everyone else was too tired to
get out of the van, so Stephanie & I took
pictures :-)  What?!  A visit to Seattle and,
of course, you HAVE to see the Space Needle!

Well, it was probably one of the most confusing things
they've ever bought (long story), but the girls brought
back beautiful flowers for their Mom!
 She loved them!

  3. Ok, lots of favorite pics on this post... I think the two winners are the one with Jan and Leesie wearing the flowery veils, and then the one from behind with you and all three of the girls walking! Such good times!

Thanks for thinking of me and Miss Amanda, Leesie! ;-) We miss you all so much!!
