Hike to Johnson Canyon

Another update from our time in the Canadian Rockies.. :)
We stayed in town for a couple nights and took a day to
tour around.  We spent a lot of the day on a hike, then went to
town to do a little shopping before we headed back to the hotel
to go swimming in our pool with a three-foot-high water slide! :)
More Big Horn Mountain Sheep.. we saw a lot of them!

Dr. Jim wanted to stop on the way to our hike to
see if we could see some animals down in the water..
no animals, but an incredible view!

 Makes a great desktop! :)
What we'll do to get good pictures! ;)

We climbed the side of the mountain..
Thankfully we had a railing to hold onto
for most of the way because it was very
icy and very high in a lot of spots!
I think it made Dr. Jim uneasy :)
My Mom would've about died!!!

Of course we had to stop along the way
to take pictures.. :)

It's an ongoing joke.. I always call little things "cute"..
like this "cute" little tree here! :)  Joe just thinks that
is so dumb!  "Inanimate objects ARE NOT cute,"
so he says.. :)  Oh well.. I still think they're cute! ;)
 Bbbrrr!!!  Would've been a cold swim! ;)

 Frozen waterfalls

Amanda & Me
We had so much fun together! :)
We even got to go through a cave that led to
the lower falls.. pretty awesome!
Can you tell we're scared?! ;)

Here's the lower falls.. I love the color of the water!
Once again, I guess there's a certain flower that makes it this color.

This is the bridge to go into the cave and
then to the lower falls..
 The Van Clan :)
On our trek to the upper falls..
I almost got a picture of Janna sitting by Joe
as they were both tying their shoes.. :)
 Mama Van & Annaleese
Of course, I thought this was a "picture perfect" moment! :)
 The sky was SO blue!!!
On our hike, we found blood along the side of the path!
Here's Amanda narrating what may have caused it..
one can only imagine what she may be saying.. ;)
 Want a seat anyone?! ;)
Are any words needed for this one??? ;)

Joe & Janna
making lunch in the bed of the truck after our hike..
You can tell Janna's really enjoying this! ;)
Guess what?!  More Mountain Sheep! ;)
(by this point Amanda & I were resting in the van
and didn't even bother to get out to see them.. :))

The End.. for now.. :)
